If you need to sell your horse and your not sure how to do it, you have a few options. One, is you can find a Horses For Sale website and register with them. Another option is you can find a local auction house and take your equine there, or you can post pictures and for sale ads of him at local bill board sites in your town.

First of all, when it comes to horses, pretty does sell. This means your horse needs to be in good condition in order to attract the right kind of buyers. A horse with a fly bitten coat, without being trimmed, that is either too fat or too thin is going to be hard to sell no matter how good a horse they are.

Before you start advertising your equine, make sure he is in great shape to sell. You need to trim the bridle path, his whiskers, and if you are to selling a show horse, make sure he looks like one. Another thing to remember is feet can tell a lot about a horse. If they aren't in good shape, you may have a hard time selling him.

A horse that isn't as proportioned yet has a beautiful coat, main and tail, will sell better than a proportioned horse that looks scraggly. A clean cut horse will make the difference between a hundred dollars and a couple thousand. Peak training will help sell your equine as well.

Start riding your horse as soon as you think about selling him. A horse that hasn't been handled will show in the ring. Prepare your horse in any way you can, making sure he is in prime condition before you sell. If you must, hire a professional to work with your horse and you may be surprised at how much this increases the price of your horse.

Then it's on to the decision of where and how to sell. You'll need to set a time frame. If you need to sell them quickly, think of a good auction house. Yes it cost money to sell there, but if you have prepared them properly and they are in peak training form, you'll get good money. Just research the prices the particular auction house is getting before you go, don't take a 3000 dollar horse to an auction house who's top seller was 500 dollars.

If you have more time to sell, there is no doubt that selling them online will bring more money. Start by perusing all the different websites that sell horses. Check out the mean or average price of the horses there, take a look at the options you have and the cost. Different websites will offer you different types of amenities.

Ask yourself these questions, can you put pictures on the site? How many? Will it cost you more to post many pictures? Will the buyers contact you or the site? Can you post videos? What is there success rate at selling horses? Know the answers to these questions before posting on the site. You don't want to post your 300 dollar horse on a 10,000 dollar post site or your horse probably won't sell.

Selling your best friend isn't always easy, but sometimes it's the best for them. There are several places you can sell him, at an auction house, on a bill board, and of course a website. Remember the condition of your horse matters, and that pictures are worth a thousand words.
