Las Vegas Main Attractions
Imagine a place where you can visit Paris, New York, and Italy, all on the same street. Las Vegas is that place, and there is so much to see and do in "Sin City," it is impossible to get it all done in one visit. If you are Vegas bound, you will need to make a list of "must see" attractions. These are some of the main Las Vegas attractions that you may want to include on that list.
Bellagio
Whether is the grandeur of the inside of this remarkable resort, the beauty of the musical water fountain at the adjacent lake, or the opportunity to shop in stores that rival the best in Paris, Bellagio is one of the premier attractions in Las Vegas. Inside Bellagio, you can ride gondolas through a recreated Venice shopping center, where exclusive art boutiques and shops await. You can also dine in five star restaurants like Jasmine and Circo, or see the amazing acrobatics of the performers at "O" Cirque du Soleil. Of course, the resort also has a casino.
Mirage
Mirage is another resort casino that is known around the world because of one of its outdoor attractions. Every night from 8 until midnight, the Mirage volcano erupts in a splendid display of water and fire. Inside the Mirage you can experience the relaxation of walking through a beautiful rainforest garden, complete with waterfalls and a 90-foot high atrium ceiling. The front desk is home to a 20,000-gallon saltwater aquarium, and Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat is also in the resort. This oasis is home to wildcats and bottlenose dolphins. Shopping, dining, and gambling are abundant in Mirage as well.
Freemont Street
In downtown Las Vegas you will find Freemont Street, one of the most popular nighttime attractions. This street, which is open to pedestrian traffic only, is covered with a 90-foot high canopy. This provides a necessary respite from the desert sun during the day, when you can see street musicians and entertainers along this walkway. However, it is the nightly light show on the canopy that is the biggest draw. Known as the Freemont Street Experience, this free display is something you really must see to appreciate.
Shows, Shows, and More Shows
While the shows in Vegas do change from time to time, so listing the "most popular" is sometimes difficult, it is the shows that bring many to this city. From world-class singers to amazing magicians and impossible acrobatics, if it can be done, you can see it in Vegas.
Singers like Cher, Elton John, and Bette Midler regularly make appearances on Vegas stages. Cirque du Soliel has several shows in the city, including an "adults-only" sensual show. Blue Man Group is one of the most popular of all of the shows. If you can get tickets, try to see Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian, even if you have seen the musical before. Many critics are claiming this is the best version of Phantom ever performed, and the stage was built specifically for the show.
With all of the shows the city has to offer, you could literally spend your entire trip watching one right after another, but get your tickets early. If you are trying to see a popular show, they will sell out quickly.
