Firstly, you need to find out how much is your average customer worth. This is done simply by adding up how much did the customer cost you, and subtracting it from your initial revenue from a customer.

In other words, if you know that you have to pay for 100 hits at 0.24 cents each in order to generate two sales at 47 dollars each, then each of those customers costs about 12 dollars to generate. Each of those customers is worth about 35 dollars.

You also need to think of the cost you pay to process the payments and other overhead costs. Only after you have done it, you will be able to see the clear picture of what is your actual profit from every customer. After that you can pass over to measuring the lifetime value of each of your clients.

This takes time, but when you find it out, you will be able to figure out what you have to do - attract new clients or increase the lifetime value of existing ones. If you have other products and services your clients can benefit from, you factor the profits of those back into the equation.

In other words, say that you have 5000 subscribers and you sell 500 of them your teleseminar package at $100. This adds another ten dollars to the value of those customers, which increases your value to 45 dollars.

During the process of measuring you will find out a great number of variables involved, but for overall process the ones mentioned is quite enough. The other key is to measure the motivation for purchases of your customers. To measure it they will need to answer your questions and participate in your surveys. It is the best way of measuring your marketing performance, as it will show you how to act in the future.

Well, you can consider your ideas brilliant and your products worth buying, but it is always the customer who decides if its working or not. If you find this out before you launch your new product, it will save you a lot f money you would spend on your marketing efforts. By understanding how to measure your company's performance and how to motivate clients to buy, you will be able to apply it on practice and make your company prosper.
