Role Models is a Must See DVD

Paul Rudd is at the top of his game right now. The movie revolves around a mid life crisis of a 30 year old but brings it into a more humorous light and highlights a couple of his poor life choices a long the way.

Sean William Scott is also another hilarious character in this film He plays a slacker who loves to party. They both travel to schools together to promote and energy drink as they educate the students about drugs and alcohol. Rudd realizes that he is being a hypocrite and has a breakdown after breaking up with his girlfriend, Elizabeth Banks.

The two manage to get arrested and are sentenced with 150 hours of community service, which as the tag line from the trailers says-bad idea. They get a couple of kids that need positive role models in their lives and Rudd and Scott, after a few crazy episodes and hi-jinks, manage to grow into, but not before alienating everyone they care about and nearly wreaking the lives of the kids. It is a funny movie with all of the over the top situations that you would expect from a Judd Apatow type film. Even though it comes off as silly in the beginning, the film and especially Rudd show more heart and realism than the script calls for and you actually start to feel sympathetic towards him.

The DVD release and the Blu-ray release are packed with extras, all the stuff that you have come to expect. A directors commentary with some stuff from Rudd and Scott, it doesnt shed much light on what was going on during filming, but they are entertaining enough to listen to. There are the standard deleted and extended scenes as well as trailers for upcoming releases.

The interaction of the actors is fun to watch and the movie as a whole is hilarious. This is definitely a must see film.
