The Influence Of Wall Mirrors In Interior Design
The phrase "wall mirror" is enough to remind us of traditional bathroom mirrors found in almost every home. Although this isn't wrong mirrors have hundreds of other uses as well. We have associated mirrros with bathrooms mostly but a casual look will reveal that mirrors can be found in rooms other than bathrooms.
For example you may find mirrors in living room or office walkways, living rooms, porches, corridors, hallways and the like. Mirrors are also very prevalent in bedrooms where people use them for grooming purposes. Moreover nowadays you may even find walls covered with mirrors and also entire buildings that spot mirrors.
Mirrors also have other high-tech uses. They are highly used in scientific circles. One great example is aboard the Hubble Telescope which orbits our solar system collecting valuable cosmic data.
Cosmic observatories also utilize mirrors in their study of the cosmos. Mirrors are also found in cars. We can say that this is inevitable since it is unsafe for anyone to drive without mirrors. In ancient times, mirrors were not manufactured out of glass because the technology of making glass was unknown to man at that time.
Strictly-speaking, mirrors have been around for some time. Ancient civillizations used obsidian volcanic rock to make reflective substances. These could be used for grooming and also as sharp weaponry. The Mayan tribesmen in South America also employed stone-architcture to curve sharp stones for reflective purposes. Later on, the technology was enhanced and today we have a variety of impresive structures that utlize wall mirrors.
Mirrors are mostly found on walls of bathrooms and some kitchens. This is where they find their most common usage. In the bathroom, people use them for grooming purposes. When people go to the bathroom, they also take time to refreshen up and polish their appearance. The wall mirror is therefore an essential component of the bathroom and toilet accessories.
Women the world over need mirrors perhaps more than anyone else. They use mirrors to powder themselves. This is because they usually carry a make-up box in their bags.
Beauty shops and salons largely require wall mirrors. In fact they cannot imagine even running their business without mirrors. People often visit beauty shops and salons to enhance their looks and this would be rendered useless without mirrors! Moreover these mirrors should be bright and spotlessly clean to reflect the real image of he person. Also they need to be comparatively big since a person needs to examine himself/herself after having, say a haircut. Meanwhile beauty places such as spas also cannot do away without mirrors.
