Why Are There so Many Wrinkle Creams?
If you are an avid reader of magazines, you must have noticed that there seems to be a new wrinkle cream every day, each one promising "a miracle breakthrough eliminates all wrinkles" or something like that. Each of these creams also seems to be more expensive than the last.
Do you believe all this hype? Do dermatologists really find new ingredients to put into the products which are so much better than the last ones?
Should you keep believing all these convincing advertisements and keep buying every new wrinkle cream that makes its appearance in an already saturated market?
It does happen sometimes that a new wrinkle cream does come out, which is much better than last year's cream or maybe it contains a special new ingredient that was not around before or was still being researched. Sometimes dermatologists and skin care experts do discover new additives and manufacture new products so you can't assume that every new claim is untrue.
Sometimes a new wrinkle cream arrives that actually does what is claimed. The more research that is done on wrinkles, the more we understand why they appear and how to treat them. We know which ingredients work the best on minimizing or covering them.
Saying that, it is also wise to be cautious every time a new wrinkle cream in introduced, claiming to banish wrinkles. There aren't that many miraculous breakthroughs, else nobody would have wrinkles, would they? It is usually down to marketing hype that leads you to think the new cream will make you look ten years younger overnight or turn back time. If you hear a claim such as these, it is time to be cautious rather than rush out and immediately purchase the new cream in question.
There are no miracle creams because creams can't remove deep wrinkles or turn back the hands of time and remove the signs of aging after a few applications. Actually, most wrinkle creams on the market are the same as the old ones, just with a couple of new ingredients and a different label! The hype makes you think it is something completely new.
No matter what claims you hear about newly developed wrinkle creams, you will want one for your individual skin type. Your skin might not be right for this newest cream or it might not address your problem areas or it might be too drying, too oily or unsuitable in another way.
Whatever type of skin you have, and especially if your skin is sensitive, you should be wary of changing your wrinkle cream too often and making sure you have the latest ones. This can irritate your skin even more, as your body adjusts to the perfumes and dyes being used.
This in turn causes itchiness, dryness or breakouts and you might end up with more problems than you started with. If you erupt into a breakout or your skin goes itchy and flaky, at least you won't be drawing so much attention to your wrinkles! Just be careful what you believe and what you buy. Sometimes it is best to stick to natural, organic products which are skin-friendly or old favorites which have always done the job in the past of giving you great skin.
